Arkadenhof at the University of Bonn (Regina Pacis Weg 1, 53113 Bonn).
Right across the street from the Markt bus stop is the entrance to the courtyard. With the tram/subway, go 5 minutes from the main train station to the main university building and the "Uni/Markt" station. You can park in the surrounding parking garages such as the university garage, or enter the market garage via Stockenstrasse.
It's a warm summer evening, the sun is setting over the Baroque university courtyard, and there's a cool drink in your hand. Life is good!
We offer a wide selection of non-alcoholic beverages (Fritz, Viva con agua), Pilsner and Kölsch beer, and excellent wines of all kinds. Our snack selection includes high-quality nibbles and organic sweets (also vegan). We request that you refrain from bringing your own drinks to the courtyard. By purchasing snacks and drinks, you actively support the event.
Admission opens at 7:00 p.m. The best places are filled quickly! You can also enjoy a cold beer or a good wine on site, both of which you can purchase on site. We rely on income from beverage sales. The event begins around 9:15 p.m. as darkness falls.
Admission to all performances in the Arkadenhof is free. No seats can be reserved for these events. The festival relies on your donations to maintain its range of events. The recommended donation per evening is 8 to 12 euros. This year, entry to the events in the Brotfabrik Bonn-Beuel on Sunday, August 16th is subject to a donation. On Saturday, August 22nd, entry to the event in the LVR State Museum costs 5 euros; you can attend the second event for a donation.
Bags will be checked upon entry so that we can ensure the safety of all visitors. Sharp objects and all kinds of weapons are removed, as are beverage bottles. You cannot set up your own chairs or other seating options in the yard, but you are welcome to bring a seat cushion for the existing chairs. Seat cushions can also be purchased at our info point. Otherwise, everything can be taken with you!
The majority of films with live music recordings are available to stream online after the screening. The films in the program are online for 48 hours each. The platform for our streaming offering is provided by the Kulturserver NRW. You can find all films and availability dates at https://stummfilmtage.culturebase.org/. If you like the streaming offer, please support its preservation with a donation.
The festival is committed to diversity, respect and openness. The aim is to create a safe event with the greatest possible freedom from discrimination. If you have any questions, requests or special needs, please contact us by email at: awareness.inklusion@film-ist-kultur.de. The hotline telephone number of the awareness team is: +49 1575 6209967.
Here you will find our mission statement (here in simple language), as well as an FAQ on the subject of accessibility and awareness with detailed information on how to get there, a description of the surrounding area and offers for various needs.
The university's arcade courtyard is completely paved with cobblestones. However, there is cobblestone-free access to the Arkadenhof through the main entrance from the city center (Ehrenhalle). This entrance is reserved for people with disabilities and special needs and their accompanying persons. We would like to thank the SWB for their support in the area of accessibility! This year she is providing additional chairs for overweight people at the festival. If you are interested, please contact our awareness team by email, telephone or on site.
We have been faced with two problems for years:
