After his fiancée breaks up with him, Buster Keaton sets off on a trip around the world in a small boat. On his journey, he happens upon the whaling ship ‘Love Nest’ and subsequently joins its crew. However, his constant mishaps eventually bring him into conflict with the captain and ultimately seem to steer the ship towards disaster – or perhaps not? This nautical comedy, with its typically Keaton-esque surreal touch, was the last of the 19 short films that Buster Keaton made as a solo comedian between 1920 and 1923 – and the only one in which he took sole credit for the direction.
