Alfred Zeisler (1892-1985) was an actor on stages in Berlin and Prague before sitting in on Fritz Lang's DER MÜDE TOD in 1921 and co-writing Harry Piel's RIVALEN in 1923. He made several short films for the Deulig, including HAMBURG HAT'S EILIG in 1925, a depiction of public transportation enriched with play scenes commissioned by the Hamburger Hochbahn-AG. After film appearances (including DIE CARMEN VON ST. PAULI, 1928), he directed several successful early sound films until 1933, including DER SCHUSS IM TONFILMATELIER (1930), after which he also became a production manager (including VIKTOR UND VIKTORIA, 1933). Racially persecuted as a Jew, he emigrated in 1935 via England to the USA in 1939, where he worked as a director and actor.
